Glean

Launched in 2010, GLEAN is a juried art program that taps into the creativity of artists to inspire people to think abouth teir consumption habits, the waste they generate and the resources they throw away. Every year 5 local artists chosen by a jury of arts and environmental professionals are given access to the Metro Central transfer station for five months to Glean discarded materials to make art. The program culminates with an exhibition of their works in the summer season, at a local gallery.

PHAME

A Portland based non-profit arts academy for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. PHAME offers classes in music, theater, visual art and more that build skills, confidence and community. It provides accessible, rigorous arts education and performance opportunities, believing art is for everyone adn the inclusion strengthens the community.
